Being Korean American

“Where are you from?”

“I was born here,” I say.

“Where are you REALLY from?”

I get annoyed because I know where this question leads to.

“OH. You’re asking me THAT question.”

As if that question gives that individual some brownie points in which honey, he or she doesn’t get.

“ Korea,” I say.

Then they ask if it’s North Korea or South Korea.

Obviously South Korea.
