My Favorite Turkish Podcasts
All of my favorite Turkish podcasts can be found on Spotify.
Ranking at No. 1 is Let’s Learn Turkish with Meltem Naz Kaso Corral Sanchez. This podcast is great for beginner Turkish learners like myself. The first episode is the Turkish alphabet followed by learning about numbers and so on.
My second favorite Turkish podcast is called Turkish Coffee with two Turkish hosts Nazlan Ertan and Aygen Aytac.
Whenever I listen to Turkish Coffee on my phone while writing on Medium or walking outside in my neighborhood, I feel like I am transported to Turkey in a cafe talking to old friends having Çay, Kunefe, and Turkish delights.
The episodes I’ve listened to were: What Covid 19 Means for Women, Power Games in the Caucasus, Women in Power and Politics, Son-In-Law in Politics: Why It Never Ends Well, Family Ties: How Aunts Yield Power in Turkey, Staying Home but Not Alone, Women Say No to Harassment: Clearly They Had Enough and New Years Resolutions: Love Em, Leave Em. I have yet to listen to their remaining episodes.
But I am a bit sad that their last episode was on April 30th and since then, they have not updated the podcast. I hope that Nazlan Ertan and Aygen Aytac can resume their Turkish Coffee podcast once again because I have enjoyed every minute of it because it reminds me of a time when I went to Turkey a few years ago.
I also recommend Turkish Teacher Simge on Spotify. She talks a lot about daily challenges that are faced while learning Turkish. She helps beginners improve on Turkish speaking skills and everything in between. She even has an Instagram and a Facebook so if you are interested in learning Turkish, check her out.
